No previous fusing experience necessary. One pre-cut 6" white heart will be decorated and embellished to make a frame for a small 2" X 2-1/4" picture.
FUSING WORKSHOP - Maximum 8 Students Tuition $50.00 for 2 weeks or $30.00 per week - Prepaid Use this time to perfect and create something you would not do by yourself. Our kilns will be available for your use. Instructors will be available for advice and assistance. Please describe your proposed project at time of sign-up.

You pick the type of light you want to make and we will make and fuse the components and then the light to create your completed project. We will work with re-useable casting molds. Preparation of the molds, color blending, and color gradation will be discussed. Firing schedules will also be included.

before 12/31/08 $200.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $125.00 Traditionally cane is made in an open flame or furnace. In this class you will learn to create cane in a kiln using included materials. This process, which is designed for bracelets, can also be used in other forms of glass design. Jayne uses hands-on projects and demonstrations to instruct you in the tools used, setup, layering of glass, firing and how to twist and pull the cane. The class will add a totally new dimension to the already popular bracelet craze. NOTE: You will create two canes in class. Instruction for forming them into bracelets is not included. If you need forming instruction please see the bracelet class on Saturday, Feb 7.
CAST JEWELRY WITH MELISSA - Maximum 8 Students Tuition $250.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $125.00 Let's try something new!! Let's cast a glass jewelry piece, then finish it with beginning silversmithing techniques. You will finish 2 projects - one where we supply the cabochon and one where you will cast your own cabochon and then learn to finish both with silver. You will learn techniques such as sawing silver sheet, using a torch to create rivets, and drilling both glass and silver.
DROP-OUT VASE - Maximum 6 Students Tuition $85.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 Have you enjoyed the beauty of a drop-out vase and would like to make one yourself? Join us for this class where you will design your vase and then fuse and drop it in your own 8" kiln!
DIANN SCHWERDTFEGER IS MAD ABOUT PLAID - Maximum 12 students Tuition
before 12/31/08 $200.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $125.00 Have you ever been curious about how you could get that plaid glass effect? In this class you will learn how to create wonderful plaid patterns using stringers and noodles. Bring a picture of your favorite plaid or if your family has a Tartan plaid, bring it and let's try to duplicate it! You will make a miniature wasabi bowl and a Sushi plate. We will cover different firing schedules including tack fuse, dimensional fuse and slumping.

before 12/31/08 $200.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $125.00 Have you ever noticed how thin some fused glass can be and wondered how the artist was able to fully fuse elements together and have the finished piece less than ¼" thick? Come and experience how it is done. This is a great technique to use when you don't want thick, heavy pieces, be it large vessels or light-weight glass jewelry. This class will teach you the technique using millefiori, stringers, twists and other Effetre (formerly known as Moretti), murrinis, rods and sheet glass. You will fuse and slump a small bowl and make some jewelry pieces as you learn about firing schedules for a variety of special effects. This class also includes finishing techniques and findings for your jewelry creations. Materials are included.
LINDA SCOTT WITH GLASS STAMPING AND CIRCLE BORDER SYSTEM! - Maximum 12 Students Tuition

For those of you who have never tried this technique come and join the fun. For those of you who played with us last year, we are going to perfect our techniques and use a circle border for our samples. After we have stamped our patterns we will learn how to use the circle border system to cut perfect borders for small 8" plates.
LINDA SCOTT TEACHES TRADITIONAL PAINTING ON GLASS TECHNIQUES - Maximum 12 Students Tuition
before 12/31/08 $200.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $125.00 Using high fire enamels with traditional painting techniques, this class will give you endless ways to add images to your glass. This class will demonstrate traditional matting, tracing and pen work that can give shading and depth to any project you may have. More details to come. PS - You don't have to be able to free-hand draw. We will be tracing images for our designs!
FUSED MOSAIC PLATE - Maximum 10 students Tuition $125.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $75.00 Create a fused glass plate that has the look of mosaic glass without the grout! Clear base glass is included. Students will need to supply System 96 fusible glass for the mosaic pattern.

COMBING ON A SMALL SCALE - Maximum 7 Students Tuition $85.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 Let's explore combing techniques using the 8" Aim kilns. Design format will be 4" X 6" -- perfect for a soap dish. We will design, fabricate and comb individually to each form our own unique dish. Materials are included.
INTRODUCTION TO PRECIOUS METAL CLAY (PMC) - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $165.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $95.00 Make four projects using PMC3 clay and syringe. Learn the basic techniques including rolling, shape cutting, texturing, joining, blending, drying and dry working. During class your pieces will be fired in a kiln and finished using liver of sulfur to patina the surface. Your fine silver jewelry will be complete so you can wear it home the same day! Materials include clay and syringe.
WORKING WITH MICA - Maximum 12 Students Tuition $85.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 Mica is a mineral and does not readily fuse to glass. Come and explore different techniques to work with mica on the surface and in between layers of glass. Materials are included.
SHIRLEY WEBSTER - 3-DIMENSIONAL & MORE - Maximum 12 Students Tuition

We will experiment with more dimensional pieces and non-traditional methods of "cold fusing" components. As always, there will be lots of dichroic, many new ideas and more fun than you can imagine! WIRE WORKING WITH MELISSA - Maximum 12 Students Tuition $125.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $75.00 Learn the basics of wire working for jewelry components. Learn to make earring wires, fibulas (pins), connectors and jump rings. A great addition for creating unique fused glass jewelry. Materials are included.
INTERMEDIATE FUSING - PATTERN BARS AND MORE WITH MELISSA - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $295.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $150.00 Melissa Branzell is an artist and experienced instructor who has agreed to share her knowledge with us! We will be making several different types of pattern bars: loose, murrini and hot melts. We will also work with the vitrograph kiln to make unique stringers. The last week of class we will cut our pattern bars and assemble a plate of our own design to remember all of the different techniques we have explored. Materials are included.
MOLD MAKING WITH MELISSA - Maximum 8 Students Tuition $200.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $100.00 Come and explore methods in making repeatable molds for casting glass. During class you will make a silicon mold of an object, then you will make a plaster mold from the silicon mold -- learning how to make a repeatable mold. In addition, different molding products and techniques will be demonstrated and discussed. Even if you have taken a mold making class before, you will explore new techniques and ideas! Materials are included.
