STAINED GLASS CLASS SCHEDULE SPRING 2008
Speciality Glass Classes!
PMC – PHOTOPOLYMER TEXTURE PLATES – Maximum 12 students
TUITION $90.00 – NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT $50.00
Even if you do not know how to do stained glass you can create beautiful keepsakes in a short period of time. Based on the book “Pretty Little Things”, we will show you the techniques necessary to create lovely trinkets and keepsakes for your baby pictures or movie ticket stubs or whatever you want to save between glass. Materials and tools will be supplied, but you can bring your own memorabilia. Project size is approximately 2” X 2”. You will complete at least one project.

BEGINNING GLASS FUSING – Maximum 12 students
TUITION $150.00 – NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT $80.00
This class is a three-week introductory course in glass fusing and slumping. All materials are supplied. Required tools are a glass cutter and breaking tools. Three projects will be completed during the class period. Recommended reference book is “The Fused Glass Handbook” by Gil Reynolds.

Beginning Copper Foil Stained Glass Classes - Maximum 10 Students

This three-week course in copper foil techniques will include the pattern and materials necessary to construct a small panel. Tools are not included. Please ask one of our sales associates for a list of tools.

INTRODUCTION TO PRECIOUS METAL CLAY (PMC) - Maximum 10 Students
TUITION $165.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT $95.00
Make four projects using PMC3 clay and syringe. Learn the basic techniques including rolling, shape cutting, texturing, joining, blending, drying and dry working. During class your pieces will be fired in a kiln and finished using liver of sulfur to patina the surface. Your fine silver jewelry will be complete so you can wear it home the same day! Materials include clay and syringe.

MOSAIC PLATTER - Maximum 12 Students
TUITION $65.00 – NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT $40.00
In this class you will complete a 12” platter. Pattern and materials are included in the tuition. You will need to supply your own glass. Borders and background will be cut using the Portable Glass Shop by Morton Glassworks. The second class will last approximately one hour in which you will grout your platter.

Box Construction - Maximum 10 students

This two-week class for continuing students will teach you 3-dimensional construction. You will also learn how to build up the outside edge and to straight-line cut using the Portable Glass Shop by Morton Glassworks. Glue chip glass, mirror and bevel will be provided. Tools are not included.

LAMP CLASS - Maximum 9 students
TUITION $65.00 – NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT $40.00
This is a two-week class for continuing students who wish to learn how to construct a multi-tiered lampshade. We will be cutting all glass in class using the Portable Glass Shop by Morton Glassworks in week one. In week two we will build the lamp, install the spider and begin to do the soldering. Finish soldering will be done at home. Pattern will be supplied. Tools and glass are not included.

Make your own ring mandrels and ring sizes for firing rings to the right size every time! Two rings will be worked on during class, with one completed from start to finish.

PMC BIRD’S NEST – PERFECT FOR MOTHER’S DAY! – Maximum 8 Students
TUITION $95.00 – NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT $50.00
Create a lovely Bird’s Nest pendant for Mom with pearls for each of her children. We will fire our project in the 8” Aim mini kilns, set pearls, and assemble chain, all in one three-hour class so that you can take the finished project home for Mom. Supplies included. Bring any jewelry stringing tools you may already have (but not required).
