STAINED GLASS CLASS SCHEDULE FALL 2008 Beginning Lead Stained Glass - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $85.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 This three-week course will teach you the basics of lead window construction. Patterns and lead are included. Students will need to purchase their own glass.
Advanced Lead Stained Glass - Maximum 8 Students Tuition $75.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $40.00 Our experts will be available to assist you in building your larger or more intricate lead piece (must fit on a 2'x 2' workboard). Glass, lead and pattern are not included. Students must have their own tools.
Beginning Copper Foil Stained Glass - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $85.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 This three-week course in copper foil techniques will include the pattern and materials necessary to construct a small panel. Tools are not included.
Pretty Little Things - Maximum 8 Students Tuition $75.00 - Non-Refundable

Mosaic Platter - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $75.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $40.00 In this class you will complete a 12” platter. Pattern and materials are included in the tuition. You will need to supply your own glass. Borders and background will be cut using the Portable Glass Shop by Morton Glassworks. The second class will last approximately one hour in which you will grout your platter.
Specialty Class - Kaleidoscope - Maximum 8 Students Tuition $125.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $65.00 Learn how to construct a kaleidoscope. Materials and pattern for the kaleidoscope and wheels are included. Students must have 60/40 solder, soldering iron, temperature controller and workboard.
Lead Angel - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $75.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $40.00 In this class you will cut, lead and assemble an angel perfect for a Christmas gift! Glass, lead and pattern are included. Students must have their own tools and workboard.
Beginning Glass Fusing - Maximum 12 students Tuition $150.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $80.00 This class is a three-week introductory course in glass fusing and slumping. All materials are supplied. Required tools are a glass cutter and breaking tools. Three projects will be completed during the class period. Recommended reference book is “The Fused Glass Handbook” by Gil Reynolds.
Advanced Glass Fusing -- Plates - Maximum 12 students Tuition $150.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $80.00 This class is a three-week course in learning a 3-stage firing. You will construct an 8” plate with a full-fused base and texture fired components, then slump using our molds. We’ll explore bas relief techniques, liquid stringer and other materials not covered in beginning class. You may use our pattern or create your own. Materials are included.
Melissa Branzell Presents Painting with Frit - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $450.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $225.00 Melissa will instruct us in the frit painting techniques of Roger Thomas and Kathleen Sheard. She has taken extensive classes and is now sharing that information with us. Bring a large photograph of your favorite animal, flower or fish and we will re-create it in glass! During class we will create an 8" x 8" tile and a 9" X 12" tile. All materials are included. Wednesday night is a time to pick up your projects and to spend a few minutes critiquing and sharing them with your fellow students.
Surface Treatments – Decals and Dicro Slide - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $85.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 There are many materials to enhance the surface of our fused pieces. This class will focus on uses of decals and dichro slide on a single-layer 8” project. Materials are included.
Cabochon Class - Maximum 12 students Tuition $95.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $55.00 Learn how to layer dichroic glass to create new colors and dimension to your cabochons. If you would like to create unique glass jewelry, then come in and learn some of the techniques we learned from the master, Shirley Webster. These pieces can be used with PMC. Materials are included.
Intermediate Fusing - Pattern Bars and More With Melissa - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $295.00 - Non-Refundable Deposit $150.00
Fused Christmas Candy Dish - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $85.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 Spend a fun-filled morning with us to create a Christmas gift or keepsake in the form of a 6” - 8” plate. Your project will be fused as a single layer with texture-fired components. Materials are included.
Fused Christmas Ornaments - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $85.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 We have a bunch of ideas for creating Christmas
ornaments that you can keep or use as gifts. Use our ideas,
or come up with your own for single-layer, texture-fired ornaments.
Materials are included.
Fused Mosaic Plate - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $95.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $60.00 Create a fused glass plate that has the look of mosaic glass without the grout! This plate will go through three firings before completion. Base glass is included; students will need to supply System 96 fusible glass for the mosaic pattern. First class is approximately 3 hours, with the second class a maximum of 2 hours.
Fused Candle Holder - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $85.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $50.00 You will create your own design that will be
fused in a two-step process; first as a texture fire, then draped to
form the candle holder. Projects will be available for pickup on
the following Saturday.
Introduction To Precious Metal Clay (PMC) - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $175.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $95.00 Make four projects using PMC3 clay and syringe. Learn the basic techniques including rolling, shape cutting, texturing, joining, blending, drying and dry working. During class your pieces will be fired in a kiln and finished using liver of sulfur to patina the surface. Your fine silver jewelry will be complete so you can wear it home the same day! Materials include clay and syringe.
Working With Bronze Precious Metal Clay (PMC) - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $135.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $95.00 Be one of the first in the valley to experiment with the brand new Bronze clay, just released at the 2008 PMC conference in Indiana. We will discuss the technical differences between this product and PMC, along with making several jewelry pieces from start to finish. Experience with PMC or similar product a must. Includes Bronze clay, use of tools and firing. Tools used for Silver PMC can be used when working with Bronze clay.
Advanced PMC – Rings - Maximum 10 Students Tuition $135.00 – Non-Refundable Deposit $70.00 Make your own ring mandrels and ring sizes for firing rings to the right size every time! Two rings will be worked on during class, with one completed from start to finish.
